Era 1 Notes: Units 1 and 2 (c. 1200 to c. 1450)

These are the notes presentations I use in class, one for each CED topic. Unit 1 covers Topics 1.1–1.7, region by region, from Song China to feudal Europe. Unit 2 covers Topics 2.1–2.7, the trade networks that tied those regions together.

There are two ways in:

Unit 1 Notes / Unit 2 Notes: the full presentations. Use these the first time you learn a topic or when you missed class.

Snippets: shorter versions of the same notes. Most take less than a class period, so they work well for review the week before a test.

Here's what works: go through one topic at a time, and after each one write two sentences without looking. Name one way a state gained or kept power (Unit 1), or one thing that moved along a trade route and why it mattered (Unit 2). If you can't, go back through the slides. The "Name the Effects" review at the bottom is a good final check for both units.
